Why Private Tangier to Marrakech 6 Days Tour?

1. Complete Flexibility and Freedom
With a private tour, you are in control of the schedule.

  • Change the Itinerary: If you really love a place like the blue city of Chefchaouen, you can ask to spend more time there. If you are not interested in a particular stop, you can skip it. A shared tour has a fixed schedule for the whole group.
  • Spontaneous Stops: The drive from Tangier to Marrakech is full of beautiful views, small villages, and interesting markets. With a private car, you can ask your driver to stop anywhere you want to take photos, buy a souvenir, or just enjoy the scenery.

2. Travel at Your Own Pace
A 6-day tour covers a lot of distance. A private tour allows you to travel in a more relaxed way.

  • No Rushing: You won’t feel rushed to keep up with a large group. If you want to sleep in a little later one morning or have a longer lunch, you can.
  • More Relaxing: The long drives through the mountains and to the desert are much more enjoyable when you can relax and not worry about a strict timeline.

3. A More Personal Experience
A private tour allows you to connect more deeply with Morocco and its culture.

  • Your Own Guide: Your driver is also your personal guide. You can ask as many questions as you want about Moroccan culture, history, and daily life. This is much harder to do in a big group.
  • Tailored to Your Interests: Your guide will get to know what you like. If you are interested in photography, they can take you to the best viewpoints. If you love food, they can recommend the best local restaurants.

4. Comfort and Privacy
Comfort is very important on a long road trip.

  • Your Own Vehicle: You will have a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle (like a 4×4 or minivan) just for you and your group. You will have more space to relax and won’t have to share it with strangers.
  • Hand-Picked Hotels: Private tour companies often work with a selection of charming and high-quality riads and hotels. You often have more say in where you stay to match your style and budget.

5. Perfect for Your Group
A private tour is ideal for many types of travelers:

  • Families: You can adjust the trip to suit the needs of your children, with more breaks and kid-friendly activities.
  • Couples: It offers a more romantic and intimate experience without the crowds of a large tour group.
  • Friends: You can enjoy the trip together without having to accommodate the interests of strangers.

Who is a Private Tour Best For?

  • Travelers who value flexibility and want to control their own schedule.
  • Families with children or older travelers who need a more relaxed pace.
  • Couples or small groups of friends who want a private experience.
  • Photographers who want the freedom to stop for the perfect picture.
  • Anyone who wants a deeper cultural connection and more one-on-one time with a local guide.

What to Pack

  • Lightweight Layers: A mix of t-shirts, long-sleeved shirts, and several pairs of comfortable trousers. With five days of travel through different climates, layering is essential.
  • A “City” Outfit: Consider packing one slightly smarter outfit (e.g., a nice shirt or dress) for evenings in the sophisticated cities of Fes and Marrakech.
  • A Warm Jacket or Fleece: Absolutely essential for the cool evenings in the Rif (Chefchaouen) and Middle Atlas mountains, and especially for the cold desert night.
  • Pashmina or Large Scarf: Incredibly versatile for warmth, sun protection on your camel trek, and as a respectful covering for your shoulders when visiting cultural sites.
  • Comfortable Walking Shoes: Closed-toe shoes like trainers or comfortable walking shoes are a must. You will be doing a significant amount of walking in the medinas of Chefchaouen and Fes, and at the kasbahs.
  • Sunscreen & Sunglasses: Non-negotiable for protection against the strong Moroccan sun, especially as you travel south.
  • Travel-Sized Toiletries: While our accommodations provide basics, it’s always a good idea to have your own.
  • Camera & Power Bank: This is an epic trip for photography. A portable power bank is essential to keep your phone and camera charged over the five days.
  • International Power Adapter: Morocco uses the Type C / E plug (two round pins), with a standard voltage of 220V.
  • Headlamp or Small Flashlight: Very useful for navigating the desert camp at night.
  • Small Day Pack or Backpack: Essential for carrying your water, camera, and other items for the overnight desert stay and daily excursions.
  • Cash (Moroccan Dirhams): For lunches, drinks, snacks, entrance fees, and any unique souvenirs you may wish to purchase in the souks.

Frequently Asked Questions

The primary advantage is its comprehensive scope. This is our ultimate Moroccan road trip, seamlessly connecting the country’s most iconic northern and southern destinations: Tangier, Chefchaouen, Fes, the Sahara Desert, and Marrakech. It’s the most efficient and spectacular way to see the full diversity of Morocco in one journey.

There is a good amount of walking, especially on Day 3 during the guided tour of Fes, where you will explore the narrow, car-free streets of the old medina. You will also do a lot of walking in Chefchaouen and at sites like Ait Ben Haddou. The walk in Todra Gorge is optional and can be adjusted to your preference. Comfortable walking shoes are essential.

For the camel ride, it is best to wear long, comfortable pants (like jeans, leggings, or loose trousers) to protect your legs from rubbing against the saddle. Closed-toe shoes (like sneakers) are also recommended to keep the sand out. Don’t forget your sunglasses and a scarf to protect your face from the sun and any blowing sand.

Yes, Morocco is generally a safe country for solo female travelers. Taking a private tour is a great option as you will have a trusted driver/guide with you for the entire journey, which adds an extra layer of security and comfort. As in any country, it is wise to be aware of your surroundings, avoid walking alone late at night in unfamiliar areas, and dress modestly to respect the local culture.

While ATMs are available in all the cities on the tour (Tangier, Chefchaouen, Fes, Ouarzazate), it is a good idea to have some cash (Moroccan Dirhams) with you. You will need it for lunches, drinks, snacks, entrance fees to some sites, and tips for your guides and drivers. Cards are not always accepted in smaller shops or rural areas.
