Your day begins at 8:00 AM with a pickup from your hotel in Marrakech. We will drive into the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the Tizi n’Tichka Pass at an elevation of 2,260 meters. Along the way, we’ll make stops for photos of the mountain scenery and nearby Berber villages.
By late morning, we arrive at the Kasbah of Aït Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This historic fortified village is known for its traditional Moroccan architecture and has served as a backdrop for films and series like Kingdom of Heaven (2005), Babel (2006), Prince of Persia (2010), Game of Thrones (2012), and David Attenborough: A Life on Our Planet (2020). You’ll have time to explore before we stop for lunch.
Afterward, we continue our drive along the ‘Road of a Thousand Kasbahs,’ passing through Ouarzazate, Skoura, and the Valley of Roses. Our final destination for the day is the Dades Valley, where we’ll see the famous ‘Monkey Fingers’ rock formations. You will settle into your Riad for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, we will depart from Dades Valley and head towards the Sahara. Our first major stop is the incredible Todgha Gorge. Here, you can take a short walk along the streamside path at the base of the canyon, marveling at the sheer rock walls that soar nearly 300 meters above you.
Our journey continues towards the desert, passing through the historic town of Rissani, a former caravan stop where you can soak in the local culture. By late afternoon, we will arrive at the edge of the Sahara in Merzouga. Here, you will swap your 4×4 for a camel and begin your iconic camel trek into the vast Erg Chebbi dunes.
Your camel guide will lead you across the sands, stopping at a perfect spot to climb a high dune and watch a spectacular sunset over the Sahara. As the colors fade, you will continue to your luxury desert camp. Upon arrival, you can try sandboarding on the dunes for some extra fun.
Later in the evening, you will set for a delicious Moroccan dinner, followed by an evening of traditional Berber music around a campfire. The clear desert night offers a breathtaking opportunity for stargazing before you retire to your private, comfortable tent.

An early start is recommended to watch the sunrise from a high dune near the camp. After breakfast, you will travel back to Merzouga by camel or 4×4 to meet your driver.
We will then begin the journey to Marrakech, taking a different route along the scenic Draa Valley, Morocco’s longest river. Our drive continues through the Anti-Atlas Mountains to Ouarzazate, where we will stop for lunch. The final part of the trip takes us back over the High Atlas Mountains.
