Your shared 3 days desert tour from Marrakech to Fes begins with a morning pickup from a designated meeting point in Marrakech. Once our small group is all together, we will leave the city behind in our comfortable, air-conditioned minivan and begin our scenic drive into the High Atlas Mountains. We will journey up and over the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka Pass, passing traditional Berber villages and making several scenic photo stops along the way.
Our main stop is the magnificent Aït Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site. You will have a guided visit with a local expert to explore this ancient Ksar. After a cultural lunch in the Ouarzazate area, our journey continues along the “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs” and through the Valley of the Roses. As the sun begins to set, we will enjoy a scenic drive into the Dades Valley before settling into your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, we head east towards the Sahara. Our first stop is the lush Tinghir Oasis, where you will have a short guided walk through the beautiful palm groves. From there, we proceed to the towering Todra Gorge, with free time for photography of the 300-meter-high cliffs.
We will pass through the towns of Tinjdad and Erfoud (the fossil capital) before arriving in Merzouga. Here, you will begin your iconic camel trek across the Erg Chebbi dunes to witness a spectacular sunset.
After arriving at your desert camp, you can try some optional sandboarding. The evening includes a traditional dinner, Berber music and drumming around a campfire, and incredible stargazing under the Sahara night sky.

Our route takes us through the beautiful Ziz Valley with its vast palm groves. We will make several cultural photo stops as we drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains, with a relaxed lunch in Midelt, the “apple capital.”
In the afternoon, we will stop in the cedar forests to see the native Barbary macaque monkeys. Our final short break is in Ifrane, “the Switzerland of Morocco,” before we arrive in Fes in the early evening, where the tour will conclude with a drop-off at a central point.
