Why Shared 3 Days Marrakech to Merzouga Desert Tour?

This is our most popular tour for a reason. It’s the perfect solution for the modern traveler who wants an authentic, high-quality Sahara adventure without the price tag of a private tour. It’s a journey designed for connection, value, and unforgettable fun. Here’s why this is such a popular and intelligent choice:

This tour is the ideal way to experience the iconic Marrakech to Sahara route in a safe, fun, and affordable way. You get all the highlights of a grand journey at a fixed, predictable price, making it perfect for solo travelers, couples, and friends who want to maximize their experience and their budget.

Travel is about connection, and our small group tours are designed for just that. You will share the incredible landscapes and magical moments with a small group of like-minded travelers from around the world. It’s a fantastic opportunity to make new friends and create shared memories that will last a lifetime.

We believe a shared adventure should still feel personal. That’s why we guarantee a truly small group (maximum of 10 – 15 travelers) in a modern, comfortable, air-conditioned minivan. This ensures a more intimate experience, more interaction with your expert guide, and a much more comfortable journey than a crowded bus.

While the transport is shared, your personal space is not. A key feature of our shared tour is the guarantee of your own private room at the hotel and your own private tent with an ensuite bathroom at our luxury desert camp. We ensure you have a comfortable and private place to rest and recharge each night.

What to Pack

  • Lightweight Layers: Pack a mix of t-shirts, long-sleeved shirts, and a few pairs of comfortable trousers (jeans or hiking pants are great). Layering is the key to comfort as you travel through different climates.
  • A Warm Jacket or Fleece: This is absolutely essential. The Middle Atlas can be chilly, and the desert gets surprisingly cold at night. A warm jacket is a must for a comfortable journey.
  • Comfortable Shoes: You’ll be doing a fair amount of walking at kasbahs and in gorges. Comfortable, closed-toe shoes like trainers or walking shoes are perfect.
  • A Scarf or Headwrap: Highly recommended. It’s fantastic for protecting you from the sun and sand during your camel trek and is a versatile travel accessory.
  • Sun Protection: This is non-negotiable. Bring a sun hat, sunglasses, and high-SPF sunscreen.
  • Camera & Power Bank: With a full day of desert exploration, you won’t want to run out of battery. Make sure your phone or camera is fully charged and you have a portable power bank.
  • Small Day Bag or Backpack: Perfect for carrying your water, camera, sunscreen, and other essentials during the day’s drive.
  • Cash (Moroccan Dirhams): For lunches, drinks, snacks, and any unique souvenirs you may wish to purchase.

Accommodations:

We believe that a great value tour should never compromise on a good night’s sleep. For our shared adventure, we have hand-picked accommodations that offer a superior level of comfort, style, and hospitality, ensuring you rest and recharge in beautiful surroundings. Your comfort and privacy are guaranteed.

Your first night is spent at the magnificent Hotel Xaluca Dades, a renowned hotel that stands like a modern fortress overlooking the stunning Dades Valley. We chose this hotel for its exceptional comfort, fantastic amenities, and authentic, grand Moroccan design. A key feature of our shared tour is that each booking receives its own private room, ensuring a peaceful and comfortable night.

After a day of travel, you can relax by the beautiful swimming pool, enjoy the panoramic views from the terrace, or perhaps even indulge in the hotel’s spa facilities. A delicious, buffet-style dinner with a wide variety of Moroccan and international dishes is served in their beautiful restaurant, providing a touch of luxury on your desert adventure.

Your night in the Sahara is an experience you will never forget, spent at our premier desert camp, Imperial Glory Lodges. Nestled in a quiet, secluded area of the Erg Chebbi dunes, this camp offers a level of luxury and comfort that is truly special. Once again, each booking receives its own private lodge (tent), your personal sanctuary in the desert.

After your sunset camel trek, you’ll be welcomed to this stunning encampment for an evening of Berber music, a delicious multi-course dinner, and incredible stargazing. The attention to detail, from the beautiful decor to the warm hospitality, makes this a truly five-star desert experience.

Olivia
We chose this shared tour because we wanted to meet people, but we were blown away by the quality. This is not a standard budget tour. The hotel in Dades (Xaluca) was magnificent, and the Imperial Glory Lodges in the desert were absolutely breathtaking, like a 5-star hotel under the stars. Our guide, Hassan, was fantastic, and the small group size made the whole trip feel personal and fun. If you're looking for a high-quality desert experience without the private tour price, this is it. Morocco Glory Travel gets it right.
