Embark on our most popular cross-country journey in a fun, social, and incredibly valuable way. Our Shared 3-Day Desert Tour from Fes to Marrakech is the perfect choice for solo travelers, couples, and friends who want to experience the full magic of the Sahara and meet new people from around the world.
This tour follows the same spectacular route as our private journey. You will travel from the ancient city of Fes, through the cool cedar forests of the Middle Atlas, and into the profound silence of the Sahara Desert for a magical sunset camel trek and an unforgettable night in our luxury desert camp. The journey continues through ancient kasbahs and the magnificent High Atlas Mountains, concluding in the vibrant city of Marrakech.
We believe a shared adventure should still feel personal. That’s why we keep our groups small (a maximum of 15 travelers) and use comfortable, air-conditioned minivans. You will enjoy the same expert Berber guide and high-quality accommodations as our private tours, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and authentic journey at an unbeatable value.
Approximate Driving Time: 7.5 Hours
Your shared adventure begins with an early morning pickup from a designated meeting point in Fes. Once our small group is all together, we will leave the imperial city behind in our comfortable, air-conditioned minivan and journey south. Our scenic drive takes us into the Middle Atlas Mountains, with our first stop in the charming, Swiss-style town of Ifrane.
Shortly after, we will pause in the beautiful Cedar Forest of Azrou to see the native Barbary apes. Our drive continues, with a planned lunch stop in the mountain town of Midelt.
In the afternoon, we will cross the magnificent Ziz Valley, stopping to enjoy panoramic views of its vast palm oasis. We will pass through Erfoud, the fossil town, before arriving in Merzouga. Here, you will begin your unforgettable camel trek across the Erg Chebbi dunes to watch the sunset from a high dune.
Your day culminates at our luxury desert camp, where a traditional dinner and an evening of Berber music around a campfire await.
Accommodation: Luxury Oasis Camp

An optional early start is rewarded with a breathtaking sunrise in the desert. After breakfast, you will have a short camel ride back to meet your driver. Our journey west begins with an optional stop in Rissani to visit the traditional souk if it is a market day.
We then proceed to the Tinghir Oasis and the towering Todra Gorge. Here, you will have time for a peaceful walk through the canyon, beneath the 300-meter-high cliffs.
The journey continues along the “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs” until we reach the spectacular Dades Valley. Your guide will take you to a panoramic viewpoint to see the famous zigzag road and the unique “Monkey Fingers” rock formations. You will then settle into your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Accommodation: Hotel Babylon Dades or similar

After breakfast, our final day’s journey takes us towards Marrakech. We will drive through the Valley of Roses in Kalaat M’gouna and make a photo stop at the exterior of the Atlas Film Studios in Ouarzazate.
The main highlight of the day is an extended visit to the Aït Ben Haddou Kasbah, a remarkable UNESCO World Heritage site. You will have a full tour of this ancient village, which has served as a set for numerous famous movies.
Finally, we begin our spectacular scenic drive up and over the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, passing traditional Berber villages along the way. We expect to arrive in Marrakech by the afternoon, where the tour will conclude at a central drop-off point.

Why is our shared tour a superior value?
Our Shared 3-Day Desert Tour offers an exceptional journey at a fair and transparent price. While you may find cheaper options, we have designed our shared tour to be fundamentally different, focusing on a level of quality, comfort, and authenticity that others simply do not provide.
This tour is the perfect solution for the modern traveler who wants an authentic, high-quality desert adventure without the price tag of a private tour. It’s a journey designed for connection, value, and unforgettable fun. Here’s why this is such a popular and intelligent choice:
This tour is the ideal way to experience the epic Fes to Marrakech traverse in a safe, fun, and affordable way. You get all the highlights of a grand journey at a fixed, predictable price, making it perfect for solo travelers, couples, and friends who want to maximize their experience and their budget.
Travel is about connection, and our small group tours are designed for just that. You will share the incredible landscapes and magical moments with a small group of like-minded travelers from around the world. It’s a fantastic opportunity to make new friends and create shared memories that will last a lifetime.
We believe a shared adventure should still feel personal. That’s why we guarantee a truly small group (maximum of [e.g., 10] travelers) in a modern, comfortable, air-conditioned minivan. This ensures a more intimate experience, more interaction with your expert guide, and a much more comfortable journey than a crowded bus.
While the transport is shared, your personal space is not. A key feature of our shared tour is the guarantee of your own private room at the hotel and your own private tent with an ensuite bathroom at our luxury desert camp. We ensure you have a comfortable and private place to rest and recharge each night.
We believe that a great value tour should never compromise on a good night’s sleep. While you’ll share the journey’s adventures with new friends, your comfort and privacy at night are guaranteed. We have personally selected our partner accommodations for their quality, hospitality, and authenticity.
Your first night is an unforgettable experience in the heart of the Sahara. You will stay at the Luxury Oasis Camp, a stunning encampment nestled in a quiet area of the Erg Chebbi dunes. A key feature of our shared tour is that each booking receives its own private tent. You will not be sharing with strangers. After your sunset camel trek, you’ll be welcomed for an evening of Berber music, a delicious dinner, and incredible stargazing.
After your magical night in the desert, your second night is spent nestled in the heart of the stunning Dades Valley at the Hotel Babylon Dades. This charming, family-run hotel embodies the spirit of authentic Berber hospitality.
Once again, each booking receives its own private room, ensuring your comfort and privacy. A delicious, multi-course, home-cooked Moroccan dinner awaits you in the evening, providing a comfortable and authentic stop on your way to Marrakech.
It means you will be sharing the transportation (a modern, air-conditioned minivan) and the expert guide with a small group of other travelers. However, your accommodations are private. You will have your own room at the hotel and your own private tent at the desert camp.
We are committed to a small group experience. Our groups have a maximum of 10 or 15 travelers. This is not a large, impersonal bus tour, which allows for a more personal and comfortable journey.
No. Our pricing is based on private accommodations. As a solo traveler, you are guaranteed your own private room at the hotel and your own private tent at the camp. You will not have to share with a stranger.
The main differences are the vehicle and the flexibility. On a shared tour, you travel with other people in a minivan on a fixed itinerary. On a private tour, you have your own private 4×4 and guide, which allows you to customize the pace and stops to your personal interests.
Yes, of course. If you prefer not to ride a camel, a 4×4 vehicle will transfer you and your luggage to the desert camp. You can relax at the camp while the rest of the group does the sunset camel trek.
Of course, you can take an ATV quad from the camp to the village instead of riding camels. However, the return camel ride on the morning of Day 2 is included in the tour price. ATV quad biking is a separate, optional activity that incurs an additional cost.
Booking is easy. We require a small deposit to confirm your tour, which can be paid securely online with a credit card or via PayPal. The final balance is due on the first day of your tour and can be paid in cash (Euros, USD, or Dirhams) directly to your guide.
